Abstract

To transform the current economic system towards a circular economy it is necessary to design products accordingly. Many information regarding the suitability of those products are already in existence. Structuring those information and embedding them into the engineering design process will aid the transformation towards a circular economy. The compatibility of materials during the recycling process is crucial for an efficient recycling, therefor the non-compatible materials have to be separated manually beforehand. Joint technology is the key to be able to do so. Depending on the circular approach the joint technologies differ in their suitability.
